Yahoo's latest attempt to avoid Microsoft's clutches has brought it back to the idea of combining with AOL, according to published reports. An AOL-YHOO merger makes sense, says Henry Blodget, but should have been done long before the Microsoft bid, not after, and would be a highly complex transaction.
Yahoo has also delayed the deadline for Microsoft to nominate a board slate as it continues to buy time while it seeks alternatives. But time waits for no one, and Microsoft's bid looks better and better as the broader market struggles.yahoo tech ticker
