Philips launches 'Cinema 21:9' LCD TV


Electronic lifestyle brand Philips India today launched its latest ''Cinema 21:9'' LCD television here.

The Blu-Ray enabled 21:9 will also provide wi-fi connectivity, gaming and DVD platforms in its 8.3 million pixel screen. The company is also planning to launch this Rs 4,50,000 21:9 in Delhi by 2009-end and then expand it to other larger metros across the country.


Speaking to mediapersons here, Philips India Chief Marketing Officer Vivek Sharma said the launch signalled the company's intention of being a leader in the consumer lifestyle segment.

''This is part of our effort to regain our glory days and we'll continue with launches of latest products every two months in different segments of the markets including Home Garments, Household Appliance and Home Lightning where it has a 25-30 percent market share, in sync with our worldwide launches. We have also increased investments by 27 per cent,'' he said.

He said the company will also launch new products in the Healthcare System space including MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) and cardio vascular machines.
