Toyota launches Land Cruiser King of SUVs in India

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) today launched the globally acclaimed premium SUV segment leader Toyota Land Cruiser in India.

The eight generation Land Cruiser, which offers the ultimate four-wheel-drive and has unparalleled cutting-edge technology and comfort features, was unveiled in the city by TKM Managing Director Hiroshi Nakagawa.

The Land Cruiser, ranging between Rs 81.64 lakh and Rs 83.1 lakh, has a rich heritage of over 50 years, and having sold over five million units globally, is the world's most successful SUV.

Talking to newsmen at the event, TKM Vice-Chairman Vikram Kirloskar said the Company has 85 dealers across the country and it would be expanded to around 150 outlets by 2011. The new car would be available in 16 cities, including four metros, with 32 dealership across India. ''The cars are imported from Tokyo unit with custom duty of 105 per cent. The Company plans to investment around Rs 5,000 crore 2011 in India for expansion programme,'' he said.

Not only is the Land Cruiser a global benchmark in automotive engineering, it is also the ultimate lifestyle statement of luxury, comfort and best-in-class safety features.
