Jain Irrigation gets Rs 77.80 cr order from World Bank

Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd today said it has bagged an order worth Rs 77.80 crore from the World Bank for irrigation works in Tamil Nadu.

The World Bank-aided Irrigated Agriculture Modernisation and Water bodies Restoration and Management (IAMWARM) project covers 63 river sub basins and has been initiated in Tamil Nadu. The order is for supply and installation of drip and sprinkler irrigation systems, the company said in a statement.

In the first and second phases 25 sub-basins will be covered, benefiting about 15,000 farmers. The order will be executed during this year, the statement said.
