NABARD Kerala region Chief General Manager Bhwar Puri today said the success of agriculture and allied activities depended on the support of Banks.
Speaking at a function organised by Bankers Club here, he said to make agriculture and allied activities a success, banks should support it extensively.
Stating that uncertainty about the viability of agriculture would exist as long as it depended upon the monsoon, Mr Puri said pursuing allied activities was important in this aspect.
The bane of agriculture sector in Kerala was that the new generation was less devoted to agriculture, he added.
T V Madhavan, Assistant General Manager, SBI and President of Bankers Club, C V Jayachandran, Customer Relations Manager, Syndicate Bank) and P A Premakumar, Assistant General Manager, NABARD were also present on the occasion.
