Maxim magazine has apologized to its readers for a review of a Black Crowes album that was written without hearing the whole album.
The review in its March issue gave Warpaint a rating of two and a half stars out of five and said the album "hasn't left Chris Robinson and the gang much room for growth."
But the Black Crowes criticized the magazine over the review, pointing out that the reviewer could not have heard more than one song, as it had not released advance copies.
On Tuesday, Maxim editorial director James Kaminsky responded with a statement saying the review should not have run.
