With the Oscar fervor rising among movie-enthusiasts, Cinemax has assembled a package of award winning films for all Hollywood fans in the city! The leading multiplex chain will screen three critically acclaimed movies – Crash (2006); the touching flick on Racial and Social tension, the unforgettable fight to victory in Million Dollar Baby (2005) and the fast paced crime thriller sensation - The Departed (2007), especially for their patrons. Movie-lovers can now grab a chance to be a part of the spreading Oscar fever by catching these award winning flicks on the big screen during the three day Oscar Film Festival from 8th February to 10th February 2008 at the Cinemax properties.
The festival, aptly titled “Cinemax Oscar Fest”, is one of Cinemax’s ongoing endeavors to bring out the best in entertainment and movies, the initiative being another step in this direction. The films will be screened at three of the Cinemax properties in Versova, Vashi and Thane at 8pm on all the three days. Keeping in tune with the taste and preferences of their loyal patrons, Cinemax has selected these three special movies as each one is an award winning flick that excels in terms of story, direction, screenplay, acting and much more. All are brilliant movies in their own right and each has a special story to tell.
Speaking on the festival, Mr. Devang Sampat, Vice President, Marketing & Programming, CINEMAX, said, “Being one of the players in the entertainment industry, Cinemax is always in tune with the entertainment needs and demands of our patrons. With the 80th Annual Academy Awards fast approaching, we took up the lead to screen three of the best Oscar winning pictures of yesteryear in three of our properties. We noted the positive and overwhelming reactions and responses received for each of the movies selected, when screened during their release and hence, decided to showcase them. Each movie is brilliant in its own way and we are glad to exhibit them on the big screen”.
