Air Methods Announces New Chief Operating Officer

Air Methods Corporation (NASDAQ:AIRM) announced today that, effective March 31, 2008, Paul Tate will become its new chief operating officer. Mr. Tate has been a member of Air Methods' Board of Directors since August 2003. In addition, Mr. Tate, who has been serving as the executive vice president and chief financial officer for Frontier Airlines, Inc. since October 2001, has resigned his position with Frontier effective March 21, 2008. Mr. Tate brings over 20 years of aviation experience in both financial and operational roles. Mr. Tate holds a Masters of Business Administration degree and an undergraduate degree in Economics from Northwestern University. Mr. Tate is also a certified public accountant.

Previously, the chief operating officer role was combined within the chief executive officer position. Given the significant growth of the Company over the past few years, separation of these functions was deemed necessary to provide for appropriate depth and resources at the senior executive level of the organization. Mr. Tate will resign his position from the board of directors concurrent with the effective date of his appointment on March 31st.
Aaron Todd, Chief Executive Officer stated, "We are grateful that Paul has agreed to join our organization in this important role. As an Air Methods board member these past few years, Paul has proven invaluable in his support of the Company and its lofty objectives. We are constantly looking for ways to achieve greater quality in our operations, while also improving efficiency as we continue to grow. Paul's experience within aviation operating environments will help ensure a continuation of these efforts, while providing our senior team greater ability to address our customer's needs and pursue the numerous business development opportunities for our Company."
