PRSA-Detroit Elects 2008 Officers, Board Members

The Public Relations Society of America -- Detroit Chapter elected 2008 officers and five members of a 16- member board of directors at its annual meeting on Nov. 15. All appointments are effective Jan. 1.

Officers elected to one-year terms, their hometowns and business affiliations include:

-- President -- Scott Simons, APR, Southfield, DTE Energy
-- Vice President -- Kim Skeltis, APR, Huntington Woods, Strat@comm
-- Treasurer -- Rich Donley, APR, Royal Oak, Airfoil Public Relations
-- Secretary -- Melanie Davis, APR, Sterling Heights, The Macomb County
Chamber
-- Immediate Past President -- Glen Foldessy, APR, Shelby Township,
GMAC Financial Services

Elected to three-year terms on the board are:

In addition, Carrie Zarotney was appointed to fill an unexpired three-year term on the board. Zarotney, president of the Birmingham Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce, lives in Madison Heights.

The PRSA-Detroit chapter, which will host the 2008 PRSA International Conference, is the sixth largest chapter of the world's biggest and most prestigious public relations organization.
