With the increasing focus on immigration issues and more than an estimated dozen states having already passed legislation or working on proposed legislation, Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc. (NYSE:PPD) is making an effort to better educate its sales force on how the company's legal membership can assist businesses and their employees with compliance efforts.

Stonecipher said he would be hosting a company-wide conference call on Wednesday, Nov. 14, to address the issue, speaking directly to the company's 400,000-strong sales force.
"This issue isn't going away," he said. "For example, Oklahoma recently passed House Bill 1804, effective Nov. 1, which established criminal penalties for harboring, transporting or concealing illegal immigrants. It denies them public benefits and also requires businesses to run all new workers through a verification system. The best thing any of us can do is make sure we know our rights and understand our options - whether this issue or the countless other legal events that touch our lives daily. To do that, we need the ability to speak with an attorney."
